Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, Monica embodies the true meaning of a Carioca, as natives of Rio de Janeiro are known. Monica possesses the perfect blend of qualities that make her so indispensable to her clients—intelligence coupled with competence with the critical component of expert follow through. Above all else she has a true desire to be of service and she can’t help but share her expertise with others.

With a M.S in Tourism and Travel management, Monica started her career as Guest Relations Manager at the Intercontinental Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Following that, she worked for the Melia Group, running the Brazilian Tours & Excursions Department, where her extensive knowledge of the country, professionalism and negotiating skills supported her success in planning, managing and marketing new projects.

After many successful years working in Brazil, the opportunities available in New York lured Monica to the States where she applied her travel expertise at a renowned travel agency in Manhattan. There she met Rick Wohlfarth, and after a decade in which he was on the receiving end of her excellence service, exceptional attention to details and outstanding dedication to her clients Rick invited Monica to join his firm and apply her well honed skills to the real estate profession at Wohlfarth & Associates, Inc.

While at Wohlfarth & Associates, Inc., Monica has proven that her enthusiasm, dedication and unwavering commitment to her clients are key essentials for a successful career. Whether it’s negotiating with contractors on behalf of her sellers, expertly staging apartments for showings, or baking a special treat to offer at an open house everything she does demonstrates her sincere care of others and cements long and lasting relationships with clients, colleagues and friends.

Monica and her Husband, John, live on the Upper East Side and take every opportunity to participate in the rich and diverse cultural life of New York City. As a long time resident of New York, Monica gives back to the city which she now calls home and volunteers at Governors Island during the summer months , Bike New York and the GMHC -AIDS Walk NY event when she isn’t cooking up a Brazilian feast to entertain her wide circle of friends and family.
