Elizabeth Borden comes to Wohlfarth & Associates, Inc. with 22 years of extensive experience in selling real estate. She has been a licensed salesperson since 1977 and a broker since 1980, working primarily in Manhattan's Upper West Side, although she has also sold on the Upper East Side, Chelsea, and in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Her range of sales includes studios to luxury ten room apartments and all sizes in between. She has experience in working as a consultant with tenant groups, reviewing Offering Plans, appraising apartment "lines," and she has negotiated with sponsors on tenants behalf. She has also worked with sponsors in assisting with formulating share allocations for conversions. Liz is well known throughout the brokerage community as knowledgeable and professional, which has gained her an excellent reputation. Many of her sales come from personal referrals. She is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. Liz relocated to the Upper West Side in 1969 from Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, where she owned a brownstone, and she also lived in Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights. She has owned three cooperative apartments in Manhattan since 1974, served on her current building's Board of Directors continuously since 1993, and in 1996, she was the President of the Board. Liz recently completed a "gut rehab" of her current apartment, working as designer and construction supervisor. She is divorced and has a 26 year old son who was married last year. Although a native of San Francisco, Liz considers herself a true New Yorker, having lived in New York City since 1966. She attended St. Lawrence University and did graduate work at Adelphi University, Hunter College Graduate Division, and Bank Street College of Education. She majored in Fine Arts and History and has always been interested in architecture. Over the years, she has studied at the Art Student's League and the School of Visual Arts. Prior to real estate, her work experience was variegated: free lance commercial artist, social worker, and teacher in both private and public schools in culturally diverse neighborhoods in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Her paintings and drawings have been sold privately and through galleries. Hobbies include reading, (fiction, poetry and art history), refinishing furniture, sailing, and swimming.
